Bobi Grazing Reserve

Bobi Grazing Reserve totals 76,889 acres!SFA and partners have drilled 5 boreholes on the reserve, and repaired 2! We have 8 schools here, and over 764 students! Grazing reserves are land that has been set aside for the rotational grazing of cattle for Fulani shepherds, their cattle, and their families. We build schools and healthcare clinics on reserves, to meet the needs of the Fulani holistically. We train the nomadic Fulani people to keep their cattle in one place, minimizing land feuds, and giving them access to education and healthcare!

City Of Refuge

The moment you give your life to Christ you become an infidel according to Islam. Islam insists upon death or rejection for any new converts. The City of Refuge is a place for Fulani people who are new converts to Christ to find a safe haven. We offer discipleship classes to build up a convert's faith in Christ. Reverend Phyllis Sortor, AKA MAMA FULANI, built a large church and 7 rooms for converts. Some converts are enrolled in school, and some we are able to employ after school hours. Funded by Schools For Africa, we train these converts in an occupation such as welding, sandals making or sowing of clothes. We have three pastors in the City Of Refuge who run the church and disciple converts. Many of the students from our nearby primary and secondary schools and their families attend the church as well. To change from Islam to Christianity is very challenging. Musa, a convert in the City Of Refuge, had cows, but the moment he denounced Islam to convert to Christianity, his family stole all the cows that were his inheritance, and chased him out of his home. He was persecuted, without shelter or food, until we brought him into the City of Refuge. Suleiman, another convert, was sent out of his village. His mother loved him dearly as her only son, so he was sent out of his village, so that the villagers would not kill him. Usman faced a great challenge when he converted to Christianity. He was cut severely with a large knife, and was left in his pools of blood to die. A Christian brother took him to hospital for treatment. God intervened, and after many days in the hospital, he began to recover, and was brought to the City of Refuge. Another convert, a Muslim woman, was received by the church after her father disowned her for the new faith she has chosen. She held on to her Christian faith, and today her son is now a pastor because she stood firm. Ahmodu gave his life to Christ, but had to run away from his home, fleeing for his life. We accepted him into the City Of Refuge, and he continued here for many months. One day he was threatened by some Muslims to change his religion, or die. His faith was not strong enough to face the challenges and he later went back to Islam. One of our converts, Hassan came to us through an evangelist. Hassan said he was a new convert, that he believes in Jesus Christ, but his parents were after his life. He asked, "Can I find a place here?" Our pastor replied, "Yes, you are now my friend." He said, "But I don't know you, I'm just seeing you for the first time." The pastor said, "Yes, in the family of Jesus Christ, there is no need to know each before becoming friends. We are family now and brothers."
